Eastern Corridor Transportation Plan
The Eastern communities of Hamilton County and Clermont Counties have established a transportation plan that will address the transportation needs of our area. If our current forms of public transportation with respect to existing roadways and public transportation are not improved or expanded, this region will experience traffic gridlock by the year 2020. The Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana Regional Council of Governments (OKI) were the lead agency that formulated a group to study the transportation needs of the Eastern Corridor area.

The Fairfax community is directly involved in the Eastern Corridor's Plan. The widening of Red Bank Road will dovetail into the future proposed connection to SR 32 at Eight Mile Road. Expanded bus service and hike/bike trails are planned along the Red Bank Road corridor. Commuter rail service is also being planned with a station to be built somewhere in the Fairfax area. The proposed commuter rail line will go west into the downtown Cincinnati Business District and east to Batavia.
